What KEEPS you connected… the phone? or the phone charger!?

How would you feel without your phone for the day?… I’d feel naked like no other.  Naked to the point where I’d do anything and everything in my power to try to get my phone back, or operational, whatever the problem may have been.

I was wandering the streets, minding my own business.  Maybe I was walking home from school… (heh… maybe) or maybe I was finishing off a run (probably more likely), but my phone died and I NEEDED to CHARGE it.  So I went back to my apartment and looked for that charger, that precious charger that would put the clothes back on my back.  But it was no where to be found :(  But a little birdie told me that I had left it at my friend’s place back at home, so I jetted downstairs got into my car and drove home.

And this is where things began to get a little weird.  I arrived at my hometown, thought everything was normal at first until I pulled into my development.  There were no houses to be seen; instead there was towering greenery.  Maybe they were bushes? or really thick trees, the kind that you see in a mystical forest in those epic medieval movies.  Then I noticed something different still, the bushes had windows and there was LIGHT! Precious light in an otherwise gloomy setting… I tried to park my car but the spots were too small.  Fortunately to my surprise, my car could now change shapes and camouflage itself into the greenery.  Pretty nasty trick if you ask me… cars in 2015 better have this feature or I will most definitely be upset.

After parking my car, I wandered the bushy alleys looking for my friend’s place… but how was I supposed to know where it was? EVERYTHING looked different… it was like navigating a hedge maze. Ever go to those corn mazes during Halloween and got lost?.. that’s exactly how I felt, except I was dead alone.  Sure there were crickets, and their chirp made me feel slightly better; slightly better from otherwise being terrified to my guts.  Then I heard something creeping up behind me… (yea this is slowly turning into a nightmare huh?) Without getting a good look at anything behind me I just ran, wherever my feet took me.  Turn after turn, finding nothing but another way to go, I finally heard a voice yell down at me from the bushes ahead.  It was my friend!  And he threw something down at me to swing me up. I grabbed the “rope” and noticed it had a rubbery feel to it; but that didn’t really matter right now, I just needed to get the fuck off this ground before whatever was chasing me would be doing something much nastier to me.

I climbed up, and rested on a wooden balcony overlooking the night under and beyond.  And to my surprise, … it was the charger that I was holding.  He saved me with my phone charger.  I plugged in my phone, and let it charge.  Everything was going to be alright.
